I have an apartment building that is really 2 buildings connected. 12 ip cameras installed 7 to 1 building 5 to the other. All connected to 1 NVR. All of a sudden 1 building stopped showing 5 cameras but the other building with 7 are fine. Tested cat5 and poe switches ok, plug in a new camera and it shows fine. The 5 cameras just can not be found using the find ip camera software and tried ip scanner even did a factory reset and no where can any of the 5 cameras be found.
I have never had this issue before and I installed hundreds of cameras. My last resort is here and support to find a possible cause.
I am very good at networking, just not showing on the network
5 of 12 IP cameras suddenly quit
Re: 5 of 12 IP cameras suddenly quit
Hello and Welcome to the forum
So it is very odd that there is an issue with 5 cameras at 1 time. This really sounds like it could be only 1 of a few things.
Power issue, Network related issue.
So when you say you take a camera and connect it (new) it shows fine? Connect it where? I mean did you take a camera up to one of the non working cameras and connect a new camera to that location for it to work or are you saying you connected a different ccamera to your NVR and it was found and worked but isn't on the far end of the network?
Then how is your system setup? 12 cameras? What NVR?, What Cameras? What cameras are working? What ones are not? How are they connected? Static or DHCP? How did you Reset camera?
If your cameras were setup without IR then this won't help however if the one you Reset was really reset then it should be able to. If you cover the front of the camera can you hear the IRC Kick in and the IR lights turn on? This is to say that the cameras are getting power? That will cure that as one of the issues.
Cameras connected to POE Switch? POE NVR? 12vdc or 24vac?, Wireless wired? 5 cameras to POE switch then 1 cable to the Security closet? or how are they transmitting to the NVR area..
Testing cameras at remote building or your security closet?
Sorry for all the questions just trying to get as much info as I can to try and help with your issue better.
