1190W I should get today

Post by Revo2Maxx »

So I was looking at Amazon and I see that my 1190w should be here today. Say should because it wouldn't be first time one of my orders was delayed for no good reason lol

Wasn't the only camera I wanted to buy but was the only one I was able to seeing I had to replace my Fridge at just over a grand.. Oh well..

So I did one thing that I really don't like doing and that is I polluting my mind with other peoples Reviews. Not always are they good and with all the things I have seen (After already placing the order lol) I now feel like maybe it was not a good buying choice..

However I wanted some answers. Things I couldn't find and still didn't really get. However I did see a Video where someone shows that quality at night B/W is very Motion Blur. However in Color it was worse like seeing the persons body as the ground and only making out the head and hands lol.. So in the Video they did a fast scan of the WebUI. at the point of the LED's they didn't show what I wanted to see just there was Options they didn't show lol.. Then I see there is SMD however only option is Human. I mean if it works that is better then going off for every leaf that blows by..

So then here comes the point where I said I don't like looking at other people reviews without already owning the product people of claims that people make. For one of them said that the White leds are not something that you can turn off however can dim? Yet I see in the IVS portion of the camera where it talks about using the LEDS as Spot light Activation so that kind of tells me that either the person is wrong (They just don't know how to setup the poor camera) or the camera has a Feature that is worthless lol. Kind of like the ASH26 where the camera will make the Light come on even at day time yeah that is something I have off no need for that...

So now I will get, Install in area that I will test all options and features of the camera. However this camera will replace one of my cameras that I don't give air time (No one has seen AOV) for security reasons. So I might if I find some issues that i want to point out install in an area that already has known angle..

Then last thing for people that might be looking at buying the 1190W keep in mind it is only a IP55 and one of the people pointed out they could see wires inside the camera I am going to guess they were talking between the base and camera pan portion yet looking up isn't like water is going up (Don't spray off the camera)

Now about the Video with Motion Blur, I am going to guess it is caused by placement of the camera. I will test things well but from where they had the camera mounted and the ledge of building it was seeing maybe 2 inch of light color part of the building. I wonder if the camera angle of the camera away from building if it would have had the same effect?

Well got it today. WOW. one of the reasons I never bought a Zen camera is because they just didn't look like they were of the Quality I come to expect from Amcrest camera. I know it is hard to say that without ever touching one, however that is why. Plus just didn't like the name Zen lol..

Well this camera the IP5M-1190W kind of fits in that area of lower in quality.

So this is my First Glance take on what I see so far.. IP55 personally I am not sure. I don't like the fact that they put the Reset button on the high side of the camera. Why this is an issue? Well because it is exposed lol I mean if there was just a plate there and the MSD and reset button was under plate only then I don't think it would be an issue.. However it will be an issue as soon as the button boot breaks down from weather and sun. Personally I would make sure this camera is installed under cover. If you have ever had a 841, 941 or 1051 installed outside I would install it just like one might if they were using an indoor camera outside. Also the sides have rubber covers I am guessing to hold screws I don't know as I didn't and won't take apart a camera in Warranty period just incase it fails..

Next in the cameras setup it comes with the heater already turned on So if you don't need it on right now I personally would turn it off..

So I thought ok lets see what this little thing needs in way of power. I connected it to my Testing station and set it for 12v. I then set the current for 2amps seeing that is what Power supply comes with the camera 12v 2amp.

With the Heater on (while it comes stock set with it) and with LED's on at 100% under manual setting the camera in a standby mode (meaning just looking at a Preset area) was only using 270ma. When I would pan the camera it was under a 400ma load and only at the point of the camera going to the End point of the pan would it jump to 600ma. Heater on and LED's off 230ma. With LED off and Heat off 190ma and end point 360ma and pan at 340ma.

So I didn't test the Power Supply that came with the Camera because I don't normally use them anyway. However I will and I will use a testing rig to see how well it will run at 1.20amps seeing that is about double the end stop with leds and heat on.

I am going to guess this camera has some wiring issues inside the camera and it shouldn't be installed on a desk or somewhere that it isn't hanging. This camera has a strange sound like wires are being grabbed while panning the camera. Also when I tilt the camera at a point the camera will move in pan even though I am not using pan button. Moving head up and then down it acts like it is catching something and pulls the camera. I have not installed this camera yet and working with it on the bench. Could be that the wires inside are not secure and out of the way of moving parts.

What is odd is when I setup camera I used cable, I then went to setup Wifi, and when I did the search for SSID's my local SSID never came up only my long range routers. So I did connect to a router that is 150 feet from the camera seeing that is where I will place the camera tomorrow seeing it is cold and dark out already.

Also I thought I would mention that something I just seen. Looking at the Network area of the camera under ONVIF the Auth is disabled? Huh Why? that is from Stock setup out of the box.
